Co-winner of the 2024 UConn Saxophone Quartet Composition Competition

I have adapted my “Trombone Quartet No. 1” for saxophones. This piece in arch form includes a majestic and foreboding largo, a frenetic allegro, and a spooky adagio. I’ve made some changes in this adaptation: the allegro is faster and filled with saxophonish flourishes. The bari sax illustriously provides the floor-shaking foundation previously given by the bass trombone.

This piece was chosen as one of the winners of the 2024 UConn Saxophone Quartet Composition Competition. The saxophonists praised the idiomatic writing for each of the four saxophones and repeatedly said that they enjoyed playing it.
