A fresh arrangement of an old hymn. This piece shows the potency of a change in harmony. In the first four verses, the tenor 1 melody is exactly the same, but with drastically different harmonies, evoking the despair and hope of the lyrics. The final verse is more polyphonic, culminating in a barbershop-esque coda.

A great piece for choir or quartet.
